Fritz: More than $1 Million Coming to Schools in Susquehanna and Wayne Counties for School Safety, Behavioral Health Improvements

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) announced today that schools in the 111th Legislative District will be receiving money for behavioral health support for students and staff and to make learning environments safer and more secure.  

“These grants represent a meaningful investment in the well-being and safety of students and staff throughout Susquehanna and Wayne counties,” Fritz said. “By strengthening behavioral health resources and enhancing security measures, our schools are better equipped to support learning environments where every student can grow, feel protected and succeed.”

The award amount for each school district is as follows:

  • Blue Ridge School District - $142,097.
  • Elk Lake School District - $145,280.
  • Forest City Regional School District - $135,220.
  • Montrose Area School District - $154,383.
  • Mountain View School District - $140,206.
  • Susquehanna Community School District - $132,540.
  • Susquehanna County CTC - $70,000.
  • Wayne Highlands School District - $203,092.
  • Western Wayne School District - $176,564.

The grants were approved through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee. The committee administers programs designed to improve school safety and security, strengthen behavioral health support, and provide training and technical assistance to schools across Pennsylvania.
