Fritz: Central Wayne Regional Authority to Realize Nearly $4 Million for Sewer Infrastructure Improvements
April 23, 2025
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) is announcing the Central Wayne Regional Authority will receive $3.97 million in grant and low-interest loan funding to replace all deteriorated sewer infrastructure in the Grove Street and Terrace Heights area with advanced and more durable construction materials.
Approximately 7,600 feet of 8-inch sewer main will be replaced with more durable construction materials, along with 30 precast sanitary sewer manholes and 75 service connections. The environmental benefits include eliminating the potential discharge of inadequately treated sewage to the authority's waterways and minimizing the energy used to treat the additional flows due to inflow and infiltration.
"Investing in the infrastructure of our vibrant small towns and economic centers is a key focus. This project will lead to increased quality of life, peace of mind and a boost in morale to the community,” Fritz said. “The Central Wayne Regional Authority is a well-managed operation that stretches every dollar. I am happy to partner with them and PENNVEST to deliver these upgrades."
PENNVEST, established in 1988, funds the design and construction of drinking water, wastewater, and storm water projects across Pennsylvania.
