PA Budget Finally Crosses the Finish Line, Fritz Says

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) today issued the following statement in response to passage of the state’s $47.6 billion budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year:

“Last night, legislators approved an annual budget that shows financial restraint and invests in key areas such as economic development, business expansion, agriculture, senior care, mental health, career and technical education, higher education, special needs and K-12 education. It also contains key reforms addressing permitting and taxation.

“As the only state in the nation with a divided legislature, passing a budget that was close to $800 million less than the governor’s initial proposal earlier this year, and far less than the Democratic majority wanted to spend, is a big win for those of us who espouse responsible spending and respect the taxpayers who fund our state government.”
